The addition of the requested deviation to Mating Verification is considered acceptable.
However as this is a deviation specific to how the Manufacturer tests the component, this deviation should be added to the Manufacturer's appendix rather that in the main body of the spec.
e.g.
ITEMS AFFECTED: Paras. 4.2.2, Deviations from Final Production Tests (Chart II)
DESCRIPTION OF DEVIATIONS: Para. 9.2, Mating Verification may be omitted if proper mating has already been verified by use of the dedicated electrical test equipment as defined in the C&K PID.
