Materials and Processes Technology Board ( MPTB )
Membership and Points of Contact
Direct MPTB membership follows the ESCC charter and is open to ESCC signatory member states.
The MPTB is chaired by ESA, the deputy chair is from ArianeGroup.
Primary and secondary focal points representing each MPTB entity have a Materials and Processes background, with knowledge of REACH and other relevant environmental regulations. These are typically REACH officers and M&P experts in their organisations.
Furthermore, the MPTB establishes ad hoc task forces and working groups to address specific tasks or challenges, often related to the evolution of European regulations (REACH in particular) impacting the use of chemicals, materials and processes; these groups are composed of nominal MPTB members, observers as well as external entities with a relevant background.
Lately, the MPTB has also been liaising with SME associations such as SME4SPACE, with ESA’s SME support office, and national SME sub-groups to collect relevant information and challenges from an SME perspective.
