Passive Components
Passive Components represents more that 80% of the EEE parts used in spacecraft. Passive comonents are therefore a major concern and our knowledge needs to be continually expanded in order to improve the design, reliability and safety of launchers, spacecraft and space instruments. In recent years, the development of Passive Components has been driven by reliability, performances, new functionalities, mass saving and size reduction.
Technical Dossier
Passive Component Dossier - ESCC Component Technical Board
The overall purpose of this document is to determine the European R&D strategy for the development activities and qualification programs associated with passive components for space applications. As such, the dossier aims at identifying the main activities to be launched in the short to medium term (5-year time horizon) to ensure that strategic passive components and products are available for future European space applications.
This document has been compiled by the Passive Component Technology Board Working Group (PCTBWG) with additional inputs taken as a result of discussions and meetings with space industry representatives (users, component manufacturers, agencies).
